The ICI Journals Master List is an international indexing database of scientific journals which has been evaluating the submitted periodicals for almost 20 years. The precondition for the indexation is a successful completion of a multidimensional parametric assessment based at present on over 100 criteria. The periodicals that meet both the formal criteria and the initial indexation conditions receive the ICV (Index Copernicus Value) index, valid for 1 year, reflecting the level of the journal’s development and its impact on the world of science. Thanks to the annual evaluation, the editorial boards that ensure the continuity of indexation have the opportunity to follow the long-term path and the dynamics of the journal’s development.

Index Copernicus Value is a measure of the evaluation of scientific journals. The uniqueness of the ICV assessment stems from the fact that it enables the annual organisation of the list of scientific journals from around the world within the ICI Journals Master List and gives — in an extended form — specific guidelines regarding the functional areas of a scientific journal that should be improved in order to permanently increase the citation rates.
